In 1973 Rev. Wayne Odum, along with his wife and eleven children, moved to Dayville Connecticut with a burden to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of the ‘Quiet Corner’. At first the people met in homes. They continued meeting this way until the congregation was able to purchase the former Congregational church of Dayville on Rt. 101. The new church was named ‘Pentecostal Lighthouse’.
Tragically in the early part of the 80’s Pastor Odum first contracted cancer. He passed away in 1985. Pentecostal Lighthouse continued its ministry for a period of time with various United Pentecostal Church ministers giving of themselves to help continue the work in Dayville. Rev. Mark Odum was elected Pastor shortly after the passing of his father, Wayne…
In the fall of 1989, Reverend Robert Costa was elected pastor of Pentecostal Lighthouse…
In 1992 the church sold the building in Dayville and moved to 6 Academy Street in Danielson. The name of the church was changed to its current name—First Apostolic Church.
Reverend Steven Leite of Plymouth, Massachusetts was elected Pastor in August of 1995. He and his wife Deborah moved to Danielson in the fall of 1995. Under his leadership, First Apostolic church worked to fulfill the call of Jesus to preach the Gospel to every creature.
Pastor David Jarvis was raised attending First Apostolic Church and was elected by the congregation as Pastor in April of 2016. He and his wife met in high school and married in 2001. They have been involved in music ministry, Sunday school, and the Leadership team at First Apostolic Church. A desire for growth both personal and spiritual, healing of past and present hurts, and allowing the Church and the Body of Christ to be a sanctuary for the people of Danielson are all part of the vision for First Apostolic Church. The Jarvises have 3 living children and 1 that has passed on to be with the Lord.
Pastor Jarvis and the entire congregation wish to extend an open invitation for you to join us. We believe you will find our worship and Word services to be a refreshing change from the ‘ordinary’ church experience. Children will love our Sunday School classes. Join us any Sunday at 10:00 A.M. or Wednesdays at 7:30 P.M.
